We know Millwork Worthy of the Wood. Character flaws look great in distressed leather, but woodworking is like a diamond: every flaw reduces its value.

At Brooks, we’d close our doors before we’d pass off defects as a good thing. Which explains why our doors have been open for more than a century: we fanatically insist on crafting only the finest custom woodwork you can own.

You can get what you pay for, if you know what to look for.

Ever wonder why dark wood stains are so in vogue these days? It often covers bad joint work, hammer marks, and uneven quality on work that’s touted as “premium.”

Brooks Millwork Company believes the exquisite nature of wood itself will do justice to any home or office – making each door and window a work of art, cabinets look and feel like fine furniture, moldings and wainscotings studies of perfection.

“Run-of-the-mill” is not in our vocabulary. Our mill hasn’t produced anything mediocre in 114 years. We build to the most unforgiving AWI standards, which often specify 500 quality points for a single mantel or staircase, grade of board, marks per inch and direction of the grain.

We use furniture-grade mortise-and-tenon joinery with tolerances measured with a micrometer. Variations over .005 inches are unacceptable and wood with moisture content over 11% is sent back.

We straighten each piece of wood, grind our own knives, and design our own templates. Every job is “truly” one-of-a-kind.

You’re already paying a premium. Make sure you get a premium product.

If you’re building or restoring a fine home or office, talk to us. We’ll show you how our millwork can protect your investment and showcase your furnishings. Our guarantee is simple: Brooks Millwork Company will give you superior millwork and premium workmanship, period. That’s the only kind of “character” that Brooks Millwork will ever have.
